Raising Higher Standards

Leaderships is not magnetic personality that can just as well be a glib tongue.  It is not “making friends and influencing people”? that is flattering.  Leaderships is lifing a person’s vision to higher sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its nomal limitations.

Visionaries

Leaders are visionaries with a poorly developed sense of fear and and no concept of the odds against them.  They make the impossible happen.

Effective Leadership

The man characteristics of effective leadership are intelligence, integrity or loyaly, mystique, humor, discipline, courage, self sufficieny and confidence.

Best Job

The best job goes to the person who can get it done without passing the buck or coming back with excuses.

Element of Surprise

A true leader always keeps an element of surprise up his sleeve, which others cannot grasp but which keeps his public excited and breathless.

Ingenuity

Never tell people how to do things.  Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.

Bobbie Hardin – Denise’s Mother

Most of you may have already heard, but I just wanted to post it so that we could all keep Denise and her family in our prays. Denise, lost her Mother, Bobbie Hardin, Saturday, after a rather lengthy hospital stay. All of us have fond memories of Bobbie. I bet not a one of us will fail to think of Bobbie each time we encounter Mary Kay products.

Denise, know that our thoughts and prays are with you today and in the days to come.

Note Worthy!

It is only 11 months till Christmas – have you started your Christmas shopping already?  My count down to Christmas has become an unwelcome reminder to some people. I give people this helpful information, and I get all kinds of remarks.  When it gets down to a few months – I make it worse by telling them just how many payperiods it is – WOW – the comments back are worse. My comment is that – don’t come to me complaining that you don’t have enough time to finish your shopping – I have been trying to encourge you. Thus I have the following goal time line:

To be completed by November 1st -

To have all three Christmas trees up and decorated. (Green tree, John Deere tree, and a pink tree)

Christmas cards printed, addressed, stamped, and ready to mail the Wednesday before Thanksgiving

All gifts bought and wrapped.

Mark your calendars and you can laugh and mock me when December 20th gets here and I am going nuts that I don’t have enough time to get my Christmas stuff done.

Human Happiness

There are only two roads that lead to something like human happiness.  They are marked by the words…  love and achievement… In order to be happy oneself it is necessary to make at least one other person happy…  There secret of human happiness is not in self-seeking but in self-forgetting.

Spirit of Hope

You are not here merely to make a living.  You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement.  You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish youself if you forget the errand.
